2 Month Pedi Appointment

(Sleepy Carter on his way home from the doctor)

Carter had his two month pediatrician appointment yesterday. He is absolutely perfect and growing just as he should! We discussed his reflux issues and were reassured that as long as he is gaining weight we don't have to be so concerned about his constant spit-ups. Some babies just spit-up more than others - the concern is when they are fussy, crying or acting in pain after eating which Carter is not. We have found that if we don't burp him and keep him upright for at least 15minutes after he eats he spits up less so we will continue with that. We are also going to keep him on the Previcid twice a day because that seems to be helping as he is not crying or grunting while eating anymore.

Carter was such a trooper as he received three shots (Diptheria-Tetanus-Pertussis, Hib, HepB, Polio and PCV7) in his thighs as well as one oral vaccine (Rotavirus). He cried of course but stopped once Mommy got to hold him. I think it was harder for me than it was for him! He has been so sleepy and has a low-grade fever since the shots so I hope the little guy feels better soon. Next appointment isn't scheduled until December when he will be four months - keeping my fingers crossed he will continue to stay healthy until then!

Here are his stats at two months:
Height: 22 1/2 inches (36th percentile)
Weight: 10 pounds, 11 ounces (30th percentile)
Head Circumference: 38.7 (24th percentile)
